Immerse yourself in a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills required to effectively train others.
This event is led by our seasoned experts who will guide you through essential topics, such as:
• Fiber Optic Theory
• Cleaning and Inspection
• Visual Fault Location
• Optical Loss Testing
• Fiber Cleaving and Preparation
• Fusion Splicing
• Optical Time Domain Reflectometers
Fiber Optic Basics
Basic fiber optic theory, safety considerations and typical networks are presented. Cable structure, fiber optic connectors and measurement of optical power are also presented, so as to prepare the student for the future learning modules.
Cleaning and Inspection
Cleaning techniques of various optical connectors and bulkheads is presented and then validated with the FIP100 video inspection probe.
Fusion Splicing & Fiber Dressing
Students learn fiber optic cable preparation and splicing with cleavers and fusion splicers. They understand tools, theory, and best practices. They perform fusion splices, install them into enclosures, and measure losses. Troubleshooting is done for high losses.
Visual Fault Locating
Various faults such fiber breaks and Macrobends are identified using a visual fault locator.
Fiber Optic Loss Testing
One cable, two cable and three cable loss measurements techniques are presented and re-enforced with hands on loss measurements of cables/devices.
Optical Time Domain Reflectometers
OTDR theory is introduced, guiding students in length and loss measurements using Auto and Expert modes. Experimentation with settings helps grasp their impact for meaningful results.
